~~~~~~~~
Kayo - Japanese name meaning "beautiful/increasing generation."
Tomiko - Japanese name meaning "fortune/wealth-child."
Setsuko - Japanese name meaning "temperate child."
Rie - Japanese name meaning "valued blessing."
Mana - Japanese name meaning "affection, love."
~~~~~~~~

Kayo is a Taka-onna: taka-onna, meaning “tall woman.” (Another reading of her name can be taka-jo, but the meaning is the same.) Her origins are somewhat obscure and come from a few different sources, but in all the stories there are a few key similarities. She appears as a normal woman some of the time, but when she shows her monster form, she elongates her body up to a few meters tall. Her favorite activity in peering into 2nd story windows and scaring whomever is inside. She is always malevolent, and either homely or quite ugly. nope :I

Tomiko is an Ame-Onna: Ameonna (雨女, "rain woman") is a female spirit. Ame Onna's are shown as women standing in the rain, licking their hand. She is described as a goddess from China's Mount Wushan, who is a cloud in the morning and rain in the evening. She may be considered a rain-bringer for crops.

Setsuko is a Yuki-Onna: (probably one of the most famous yokai.) Yuki-onna appears on snowy nights as a tall, beautiful woman with long black hair and blue lips. Her inhumanly pale or even transparent skin makes her blend into the snowy landscape. She sometimes wears a white kimono, but other legends describe her as nude, with only her face and hair standing out against the snow. Despite her inhuman beauty, her eyes can strike terror into mortals. She floats across the snow, leaving no footprints (in fact, some tales say she has no feet, a feature of many Japanese ghosts), and she can transform into a cloud of mist or snow if threatened.

Rie is a Kuchisake-Onna: (another well known yokai.) According to the legend, children walking alone at night may encounter a woman wearing a surgical mask, which is not an unusual sight in Japan as people wear them to protect others from their colds or sickness. The woman will stop the child and ask, "Am I beautiful?" If the child answers no, the child is killed with a pair of scissors which the woman carries. If the child answers yes, the woman pulls away the mask, revealing that her mouth is slit from ear to ear, and asks "How about now?” If the child answers no, he/she will be cut in half. If the child answers yes, then she will slit his/her mouth like hers. It is impossible to run away from her, as she will simply reappear in front of the victim.

Mana is a Futakuchi-Onna: The origin of a futakuchi-onna's second mouth is often linked to how little a woman eats. In many stories, the soon-to-be futakuchi-onna is a wife of a miser and rarely eats. To counteract this, a second mouth mysteriously appears on the back of the woman's head. The second mouth often mumbles spiteful and threatening things to the woman and demands food. If it is not fed, it can screech obscenely and cause the woman tremendous pain. Eventually, the woman's hair begins to move like a pair of serpents, allowing the mouth to help itself to the woman's meals. While no food passes through her normal lips, the mouth in the back of her head consumes twice what the other one would

These five have five other sisters that I didn't draw. They're as follows: Hone-Onna, Mu-Onna, Nure-Onna, Iso-Onna, and Kage-Onna. Their mother is a Kerakera-Onna.

Our Hone-Onna is named Masuyo, meaning "Benefit the world."

Our Mu-Onna is named Hideko, meaning "splendid child."

Our Nure-Onna is named Etsuko, meaning "joyful child."

Our Iso-Onna is named Chiasa, meaning "one thousand mornings."

Our Kage-Onna is named Aya, meaning "colorful" or "design." (which is quite the opposite of what she is.)

The mother, Kerakera-Onna, is named Yuriko, meaning "hundred-perfect-child."

Masuyo is a Hone-Onna: Hone-onna, which means “bone woman,” is a kind of Japanese succubus. Her favorite modus operandi is to take the form of a beautiful woman and lure a man to bed with her. Then she reveals her skeletal form and sucks his soul away

Hideko is a Mu-Onna: In Japanese folklore a Mu-onna (無女 lit."nothing woman"?) is a type of yōkai, a supernatural monster. A Mu-onna is a vengeful spirit of a mother who lost her child to famine or war. She protects children in danger, but may also try to merge or absorb them. They can look into the child's soul to find information while merging with them.
To gather the information, or to merge with them, the Mu-onna must cast a spell to put the child's soul to sleep.
Since the Mu-onna is made from a mother's tender feelings, she may be willing to allow herself to be destroyed for the sake of the child.

Etsuko is a Nure-Onna: Literally “wet woman,” nure-onna is something you should hope never to run into. Normally she is a solitary yokai, but occasionally it is said she works together with one of the crab-like ushi-oni. She’s a clever shapeshifter and disguises herself as a beautiful woman in need to help — usually carrying a baby, waiting by a lake or a river or the sea, and sometimes baby-less and combing her hair by herself. When an unsuspecting human comes by and offers to help her, or disturbs her, she begins her attack! If she is carrying a baby, she will ask her would-be savior to carry it for her. Then, the baby will grow heavier and heavier until the human is unable to move under its weight. Examining the bundle will reveal it to be only a pile of rocks wrapped in clothes, but by the time her victim realizes this, it is too late. She will have revealed her true form: a huge, snake-like body up to 300 meters long, and a long serpentine tongue! The final blow comes from her tongue, which she uses to drain all the blood from her victim.

Chiasa is an Iso-Onna: Iso Onna (Beach Rock Woman or Rocky Beach Woman in Japanese) is a Japanese ghost or a monster that has long hair and lives near the coast. The bottom half of Iso Onna is either translucent or is shaped like a snake or a dragon. Because of where they are, they appear to be wet. They also have the ability to make them look themselves like rocks that is placed near the beaches. In most cases, Iso Onna appears during the Festival of the Dead (Obon) or night of New Year's Eve (Oomisoka). When they do, they sit at the rocks near the beach, waiting for human prey to show. When human prey shows up, they catch their attention with erotic voice and their beauty. Once the human notices the Iso Onna, her appearance changes into something demonic, scream as if it was to destroy the person's ear, and catch and pull the prey with its hair. Once Iso Onna has caught the human, she drags the prey into the sea to the suck the blood out of him/her.

Aya is a Kage-Onna: With a name like kage-onna, or “shadow woman,” this yokai is pretty self descriptive. There are a number of ancient tales of this yokai/ghost appearing in homes, but they generally follow the same theme: the shadow of a young woman appears mysteriously on the opposite side of the shoji, or rice-paper door, but when you check the other side, there is nobody there. She may be accompanied by noises as well. The stories of people haunted by kage-onna generally don’t have people running screaming out of the house… they’re eerie and creepy, but more-or-less benign. Perhaps the creepiest thing, though, is that while usually this monster takes the form of a younger, attractive woman… other days, for no apparent reason, the shadow will be that of a withered old crone with a bell hanging from her neck.

Yuriko is a Kerakera-Onna: For some people, nothing in life is worse than being laughed at, and for them the kerakera-onna must be the most terrifying yōkai of all. Usually her victims hear her cackling first, before they wheel around, startled, only to meet the apparition of an enormous woman looming in the distance, her derisive laughter filling the whole sky. When they try to run, the haunting sound follows them everywhere they go.

Hideko is the oldest of the siblings. She appears to be 23 years old. Being the oldest, Hideko feels as if it is her job to care for the others. She cleans, cooks, and does everything in between. The Mu-Onna is quite mature and a serious individual. Though she will also mess around with the others at times. Even While being a Yokai, Hideko doesn’t like to scare people often. Though she has to absorb children every once in a while. (It’s her job, after all!)

Masuyo is the second oldest. (Appears to be 22 years old.) She’s a gold digger, a loud mouth, and rather haughty. She also loves to sleep with men. (Of course she sucks out their souls afterwards.) Masuyo often gets in small quarrels with Hideko, though they are actually very close when they get past the arguments.

Tomiko is the third oldest. (Appears to be 19) She is gentle, shy, and very soft spoken. She is often seen cowering behind her sister, Kayo. Tomiko has a habit of licking her hands, though that comes with being an Ame Onna. Whenever it starts to rain outside, everyone always blames it on Tomiko. She doesn’t mind though, because she knows it’s true.

Setsuko is the fourth oldest. (Appears to be 19. Few months younger than Tomiko.) She is cold, distant, and shows little emotion. She does have the ability to feel emotions, though she chooses not to, as most Yuki-Onna do not. Given her job of freezing people to death, feeling sadness and remorse isn’t exactly something she wants to do.

Kayo is the fifth oldest. (Appears to be 19. Five months younger thank Setsuko.) She is haughty, self centered, and a born leader. However, many don’t follow her because of her blunt personality. Kayo thinks she’s the best at everything. She stalks as a hobby, and loves to scare people. She also eats people though... Probably wouldn’t want to be around her when she’s hungry.

Mana is the sixth oldest. (Appears to be 17.) She is very soft spoken and often doesn’t speak at all. She is very thin because she rarely eats. (through the mouth on her face, anyways.) Although she rarely speaks, Mana shows an immense amount of kindness and will help her sisters when asked. (Even when not asked.) She is also a talented artist. Mana is always blamed when the fridge and pantry is wiped clean.

Aya is the seventh oldest. (Appears to be 16.) She is very creative and loves to write stories. Her sisters often forget she is even in the room however, as she does not speak. She has the ability to speak, however. Mana’s job is to take the form of a shadow, and scare the living hell out of people. That is all she has to do. In fact, she prefers to do so little, as that gives her more time to write and just do whatever.

Rie is the eighth oldest. (Appears to be 14.) She has very low self esteem. Hence why she is always asking people whether she’s pretty or not. Rie also tends to get into arguments with her sisters often over very small things. She has a bad temper, and isn’t good at holding back. Rie often complains about how all of her sisters are prettier than her. She does care for her family though.

Chiasa and Etsuko are twins. They are the youngest of the sisters. (Both 12 years old.) They are full of mischief and laughs. The two often prank their older sisters, and in result, are often in trouble. One of the main reasons of why these two are such trouble makers, is because they rebel against the idea that they are not aloud to go out into the “human world” yet and do their job. Their mother believes that they are too young to work yet, and thus, they are stuck at home.

Yuriko is the mother of the ten girls. She appears to be 53 years old. She is single. She used to be married to Hotaka, a Tengu. Yuriko is a pretty irresponsible woman, and she is often outside scaring humans for no good reason. Because of her irresponsibility, Hideko is left to care for the others. Yuriko may be immature and irresponsible, but she does care for her girls. She will protect them with her life, and comfort them when they need comforting.

Christ. I think that’s about it. Shall get to drawing everyone sooner or later.
