[History]
Mari is the youngest of four. She has two older brothers and an older sister. 17 and 19, respectively. (The brothers are twins.) Her mother and father are very kind people, but are also of a nervous nature. This led to Mari being a very sheltered child. Her parents rarely let her go to friends houses out of fear of this and that, and social events were out of the question. As a result, Mari spent copious amounts of time with her brothers and sister. She's babyed by her older brothers. They are very protective of her, and she grew to be rather soft spoken because of it. At times she dislikes her brothers for not letting her speak for herself, but she found that it isn't that big of a deal. Her sister, on the other hand, is a bit of a partier, and often sneaks out.

She seems to feel sympathy for Mari, as she realizes how babyed she is by her parents and brothers. Because of this, she frequently invites Mari to go out with her. Due to her nature as a pushover, Mari has said yes a few times, but after getting extremely drunk somehow at one party, has gotten enough guts to say no to her sister from.

As Mari aged, her parents grew more leniant, but the damage had already been done. She was eventually allowed to go to friends houses and social events, but Mari found that she didn't have any friends. She was also much too nervous to make any; and still is quite aprehensive about it. With the help of her sister, however, Mari has gotten out there a little; although not to any crazy parties. She doesn't tend to do well at parties even still, and has trouble communicating to others. (She frequently speaks in babble.)

High school has proved to be quite a challenge for Mari, but has also seemed to unwind her a bit. She managed to join a club; one that she actually quite enjoys, and has managed to make friends with the other members of the club. She fairs well academically, but requires an ample amount of study time to stay where she's at. (She isn't very academically gifted, and has to work a lot for good grades.) Mari seems to enjoy high school, even though she has trouble admitting it.
